"Would you smile at a crocodile?"

Following the visit to Strathfield Hotel, Bot and Bogs decided to get a quick sample in of a nearby Ashfield pub. Here's where they landed, briefly, before moving on to the Ashfield Hotel. They didn't like The Croc. What the crap is a crocodile farm doing in Ashfield anyway?

We asked around with a few of the team what they had to say about the place. One responce came back, "never heard of it...  don't like the name if that helps at all." The Burger Bot said, "Real crocs would have jazzed the place up a bit...survival drinking." Another report said "rat hole", although I think this person is referring to the place a few years gone by before they'd renovated the place and tried to breath a fresher vibe into the place, apparently attracting some fresh blood who have taken to the place like crocodiles to a swamp. So, we hear elsewhere that it is a great pub so maybe just not for us.

Bot and Blogs walked in, took a look around the place and decided they'd seen enough. Couldn't even be bothered mustering up the enthusiasm to hit the bar and ask one of the staff, "a beer thanks and make it snappy". Har-dee-har-har....

On our visit the front bar seemed to be fairly busy, but with someone else's crowd. Neat and tidy enough. Apparently there's a crocodile under a glass floor in the "dance floor" area although we didn't give ourselves a chance to spot it. Upstairs you'll find a funky kind of bar area as well as restaurant dining, both closed on our visit. Recall the music playing in the bar was rather off-putting.

Check out the website for details of happy hours, etc. Looks like $10 lunches are on the cards most days. Can't tell you much about the beer price and so on, sorry. So shoot us. OR, just tell us what you think if you've been there yourself.
