Generally if you have nothing good to say about something, don't say anything at all. We're keeping this fairly short. Parlour Bar is not really a pub anyway, in fact neither is The Morrison (The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room) that Parlour is a part of so not sure why we bothered. It sold beer and we were thirsty.

We'd had a beer here in the back bar before back when it was the Brooklyn I think. $7.30 for a Coopers Pale if I remember correctly. Back then this back bar was a dingy little dark hole with over-priced drinks. At least with Parlour in the new incarnation they've cleaned the place up a bit.

As we've said many times now, the reviews here are our own views. Everyone's different. Some people like beer while others prefer wine. Some people like cats while others like dogs. These particular reviewers don't like Parlour Bar and wont be back, here or in the Morrison's main room. Too 'hoity-toity la-dee-da wanna be seen' for us.

 

Parlour Bar is neatly decked out with all the latest trendy tables, lighting, menus and styles. If paying $8.50 for your schooner of Kosciuszco Pale Ale is your thing, great. Use it to wash down the trendy $10 pub jaffle.

And that's about it from us. Our original notes from the day are below but we have had to redact it because looking back, we must have been really angry about the whole experience. Enjoy!

If I was a tourist and knew nothing about pubs in Sydney...xxxxxxxxx xxxxxx who likes to spend money.

This place provides an easy way for inner city xxxxx to feel like they've stumbled across something special.

You pay a premium to know xxxxxxx in xxxx.

Get drawn in by the Budweiser sign then once you're in, the white shirt, black pants and filthy sneaker wearing xxxxx will take care of your xxxxxxxxxxx.

Bring it up at your next corporate social club meeting. You'll look xxxx and cultured and you can instagram, Facebook and Facexxxx your friends over it.
