"Slip into some cheap beer then slip out"

It was a brief visit to this Merival-owned venue on this occasion but it was enough to draw some conclusions and reflect on another time we had slipped in to the Slip Inn. Read on for more....

"Two different pubs in the one pub"

We were on our way to a Regurgitator gig at the HiFi Bar and we ask local Sydney Pub List reviewer, Southy, what the worst pub along Cleveland is to stop at. He suggests the Crown Hotel and we soon find out why.

"Baverage"

On second visit to the Hunter Street venue, we are sadly disappointed. Below-average food and for a 'club', no cheap beer in sight.

While taking a long drive through to the Southern Highlands, Simone and I decided to detour and grab some lunch in coastal town, Kiama. Going with the pub theme of late, we rolled on past the Grand Hotel and decided to give it a go.

Hazy memories

It was September. 2012. Aaaaaaaaages ago. We tried to post this blog way back then and failed. In 2015 we tried to whip through another review, took a few more notes, lost them, failed again. The SPL crew are all a bit busy with other commitments at the moment so for now, here's what we had to say on the Coopers. A lost blog.....

This Newtown pub, situated on popular King Street, dates back to around 1869 when it was then known as The Shakespeare Hotel. Beers, beers, jugs, meals, tranny bingo, beers, ground floor bar, dining area, open-top outdoor deck upper-floor beer garden thingo upstairsy bar, beer, check, check, check.

"Duelling Banjos!"

After checking out Mount Canobolas and Lake Canobolas it was time to see what Hotel Canobolas had to offer. Situated in the middle of town, it seemed to be one of the better pubs on offer in Orange.
